Our Programs
Neighborhood Conflict Resolution:
We provide affordable mediation services to individuals, businesses, neighbors and families to discuss important issues like:
The Coos/Douglas County Courts:
Neighbor to Neighbor offers mediation as an option for Residential Evictions and Small Claims cases.
Juvenile Victim Offender Mediation (JVOM):
In this program, the victim and offender are given the opportunity to discuss what happened, why it happened and how it impacted their lives. Each person has the opportunity to respond to the other and to ask questions. The conversation then shifts to how the offender can make amends; i.e., how harm to individuals and the community can be repaired or made right.
The program offers benefits for those impacted by juvenile crimes:
"This program funded by the Jubitz
Family Foundation"
Foster Family Facilitation:
This program offers a neutral and supportive environment for parents and teens to explore options for difficult situations. It provides a neutral setting to establish household ground rules when a foster teen moves into a new home. When everyone has the opportunity to talk and to listen, greater understanding is possible.
"This program made possible by a Oregon Office of Community Dispute
Resolution Collaborative Pilot Project grant."

Youth Conflict Resolution and Violence Prevention:
This program works with classes of fifth grade students to teach mediation skills which can empower them to manage their own interpersonal conflicts in a positive and non-violent manner. Good communication can address aggressive behavior before it escalates. The goals of the program are increased skills in
· self-regulation
· communication
· problem solving

Excerpts from student letters:
"Thank you for all your help on how to solve a conflict because now I know how people see stuff different and use I statements and respect other opinions and ways and agree to disagree and be the first one to make a effort to solve conflict."
"Thanks to you, me and my 8 year old brother don't fight so much because you gave people good advice and encouraged them to stand up, do something about it and resolve it instead of fighting or arguing."
"Thank you for coming to our classroom. I really liked what you taught us. You give us good detail about behaving. You say if you don't know something, ask questions. If someone fells bad, help them. We learn how to deal with problems and people. Use your manners when your mom or dad or someone gives you something. Everybody is unique. And be safe, respectful and responsible."
"The program is funded by Oregon Community Foundation, Ford Family Foundation, Meyer Memorial Trust, the Bay Area Sunrise Rotary Club and Bay Area Hospital."
